"Thanks!" to Marietta who shared the following email J.Crew sent this morning.The email features J.Crew's Navy Wool Schoolboy Blazer (Item 17072; $178.00). As mentioned previously (refer to the August 18th "J.Crew Fall Collection: What Would You Get?" post), I have seen and tried on this jacket many times. Each time I go back, there are fewer and fewer sizes left so it must be selling well. Overall, I think it's a lovely jacket but a little pricey.
The pros of the jacket: (1) the fabric which has a nice weight & feel for "traditional Donegal wool with a hint of stretch"; and (2) it's a great piece that works with different outfits (can be dress up with trousers, and dress down with jeans).
The main con of the jacket: as other JCAs have found, there is an issue of sizing. If I go down my normal size, the shoulders are a bit snug but the body of the jacket fits well (but not tight]. However, if I go with my normal size, I find the shoulders are fine, but the body is too big.
