Today was the day that, "bags, jewelry, and footwear will arrive". However, many JCAs were told that they would arrive this Monday. Jean (in this post) shared yesterday "... no shoes but lots of bags... including some small and medium size leather bags. I got a yellow chiffon organza tote bag (with leather handles) for only $25! There are also some clutches. According to the SA there, shoes will be available tomorrow. The clothing selection is the same as it was on the first day."
Also, "thanks!" to many of you, including the following below, who reported back about their visit to the sale (in the September 10th "J.Crew's 5th Sample Sale Starts Today! :)" post).
- Jean shared: "Yes, the same old $60 cashmere sweaters. This time more stocks (samples) but prices are outrageous! ...Quality isn't good as I saw some rips or tears inside the jacket (lining). ...Yes, many is written with the word "SAMPLE" on the inside of the garments including the white/ivory color! ...According to the people who work there, bags and shoes will be available next Monday."
- Leigh shared: "... There were signs for how much things were but no prices on the actual clothes. $60 cashmere sweaters, $40 wool sweaters, $55 for jackets, $150 for coats/outerwear, $20 tees or 2 for $30. Some Collection leather coats for $299. Special occasion dresses were $75 ... Most of the coats/outerwear were size 6-8. The clothing is separated by color instead of size which I found a little annoying since you have to go through everything. ... Cashiers are doing everything by hand/brain so definitely do your own math first. My cashier didn't clear out the purchase before me so she had to re-ring it. And yes, accessories, bags and jewelry will be there on Monday - and so will I!"
- Sonia shared: "... went to the sample sale in NYC as well and what a rip off. I left with nothing, what is the point when you can get better deals when Jcrew has their sales and the sales on line. ... Your better off waiting for a sale at the store this way you can return stuff in case you change your mind. ..."
- MN2NY shared:"... overpriced and staff is very crabby!! I walked out with nothing! Originally, I went up to the register with 3 items - 2 jackets and a scarf. The jackets were hanging on the "casual jackets" rack so I thought they were $55 each. At the register the lady said they were $149 each! ... Then she rang up the scarf (the sign said scarves were $25) and she said it was $40. ... I did see a small leather purse that I wanted but it had a broken zipper and the strap would have to be replaced because it didn't match - priced at $79. ..."
